Dragon Profile Error When Saving
When using Dragon® NaturallySpeaking in Microsoft® Word, the following message may appear:
“There was an internal system error which will prevent you from saving your user profile. You may be able to continue dictating, but you will not be able to save.”
What Causes This Error?
This behavior occurs when McAfee® antivirus software prevents Dragon NaturallySpeaking from saving the user profile.
How Do I Fix It?
In order to resolve the issue, the McAfee software will either need to be disabled, or the following Dragon NaturallySpeaking folder locations will need to be added to McAfee’s exception list:
- C:\Program Files\Nuance [For 32-bit workstations]
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance [For 64-bit workstations]
- C:\ProgramData\Nuance
- C:\Users\<USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Nuance
